Vitia reported to the Kosovar press that the president refused the request, deeming it “contrary to international practice.”

“The president did not hand over the phone because it would have been a serious violation,” Vitia explained. Vitia alleged that an airport staff member attempted to physically push President Osmani, prompting her security team to intervene.
