The Emperor’s New Clothes

Not only were the colors and designs beautiful, but they said that the clothes made from this fabric had a wonderful property, namely that all those who were unfit for the job they held and all those who were hopelessly stupid could not see them. – “Wonderful clothes!” thought the emperor. “If I had clothes like these, I could find out which of the officials in my empire are not suitable for their positions and I could find out which of my subjects are wise and which are foolish. I must have such clothes immediately.” And he gave the swindlers a large sum of money to start working. (Hans Christian Andersen) The declaration of the NATO summit in Washington on its 75th anniversary can also be seen as a new constitution of the expanded American empire. NATO is a political-military organization. Or the declaration can also be seen as a revised and updated constitution, a constitution brought up to date in which the main subject is Ukraine, the new major province of the empire, at war with Russia from which it once was a part, under the tsars and the USSR.

From this declaration, we learn everything we need to understand the empire of which we are also a part, albeit on the periphery. Who makes up the empire? The United States of America, of course, the United Kingdom, Canada, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and Japan. One billion people – as stated in the declaration. And let’s not forget, the new members are welcomed: Finland and Sweden. And last but not least, Ukraine. Ukraine, which is indeed the main concern of the declaration. How much money, what aid, strategies, assurances, etc. NATO is the machine that rotates its eyes 360° (an expression that obsessively returns), globally.
The empire seems to have found something very important that it lost along the way after 1990: the adversary. The main adversary is, of course, Russia: “Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine has destroyed peace in the Euro-Atlantic area (why also Atlantic? – Ed.) and has severely undermined global security (how? – Ed.)”. The adversary is extensively presented in the declaration. But China follows immediately: “The declared ambitions and coercive policies of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) continue to challenge our interests, security, and values. The increasingly deep partnership between Russia and the PRC…”
But it’s okay because “We will continue to ensure our defense against all threats and from all directions, based on a 360-degree approach.”
Joe Biden made another monumental gaffe: he announced President Putin while welcoming Zelensky to the podium. Zelensky could not suppress his laughter. The NATO anniversary summit comes unfortunately after the televised debate between the current American president Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump. The results of the debate are known: a fiasco for Joe Biden and the Democratic Party. Suddenly, the mainstream press, CNN, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, have suddenly discovered the major weaknesses due to Biden’s age, after for four years they didn’t see them. Joe Biden should withdraw from the race for a new term, they all said in unison. But Biden doesn’t give up, he doesn’t step aside.
Similarly, the 2024 Washington Declaration is very offensive, covering all domains, especially military, and the entire global geography. But how many of the declared goals will actually be implemented? Are we dealing with a true founding document or just a propaganda act? No serious analyst will dare to answer such a question.
The new “Constitution” from Washington may just represent the emperor’s new clothes. And what if the emperor is naked?
“– The emperor is naked! A child suddenly said.
– That is the voice of innocence! said the child’s father and whispered what the child had spoken.
– The emperor is naked! shouted all the people.
The emperor heard and thought that the people were right, but he thought: ‘Now I can’t go back, I must keep up as I have started.’ And the courtiers continued forward and carried the train which no one saw because there was no train.” (op. cit.)
