One of the most significant achievements of Baroness Nicholson’s career was her instrumental role in establishing the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery, also she was  appointed as parliamentary undersecretary for foreign affairs. She chaired the Select Committee for the Prevention of Sexual Violence in Conflict in 2015, and before that, in 2011, she was appointed to the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly. Baroness Nicholson has monitored over 34 elections in different countries, including Yemen and Iraq.
