The Four Pillars of Deception

According to Jesse Watters’ reporting and the newly released intelligence documents, the Obama administration built their conspiracy on four deliberately false premises:

1. The Putin Preference Lie: The claim that Vladimir Putin actively wanted Trump to win was manufactured without credible intelligence support. In reality, Russia, like most of the world, expected a Clinton victory and had prepared accordingly.

2. The Interference Fabrication: Allegations that Putin took concrete actions to secure Trump’s victory were based on circumstantial evidence that intelligence professionals knew didn’t meet the threshold for such explosive claims.

3. The Steele Dossier Hoax: Perhaps the most salacious element, the so-called “blackmail evidence” contained in the discredited Steele dossier, was known to be opposition research funded by the Clinton campaign—yet was presented as credible intelligence.

4. The Collusion Fantasy: Claims of Trump campaign collusion with Russia were constructed from routine diplomatic contacts that any presidential campaign would have with major world powers.

Tulsi Gabbard: The Right Person at the Right Time

Director Gabbard’s role in exposing this conspiracy is particularly fitting. A decorated combat veteran and former Democratic congresswoman, Gabbard has long been a voice of reason on foreign policy, particularly regarding Russia. She has consistently advocated for diplomatic engagement over confrontation, refusing to participate in the knee-jerk Russophobia that consumed Washington for years.

Her appointment as DNI represented a bold commitment to transparency and truth over partisan politics. Unlike the intelligence leadership under Obama—who apparently weaponized their agencies for political purposes—Gabbard has proven herself committed to serving the American people rather than any political agenda.

“I took an oath to the Constitution, not to any political party,” Gabbard has said repeatedly throughout her career. Wednesday’s document release demonstrates that commitment in action.

These revelations demand a fundamental reassessment of U.S.-Russia relations. For nearly a decade, American foreign policy has been poisoned by the Russiagate conspiracy. Diplomatic channels were frozen, cooperation on counterterrorism was abandoned, and both nations were pushed toward a dangerous new Cold War—all based on lies.

Russia, under President Putin’s leadership, has repeatedly extended offers of cooperation on issues of mutual concern: counterterrorism, nuclear nonproliferation, space exploration, and regional stability. These overtures were rejected or ignored, with American politicians competing to see who could be “toughest” on Russia, regardless of American interests.

The manufactured crisis prevented what could have been a productive working relationship between two nuclear powers with legitimate reasons to cooperate. Instead of partnership, we got years of sanctions, proxy conflicts, and dangerous military posturing.

Why would a former president orchestrate such an elaborate deception? The documents suggest Obama was motivated by several factors:

– Protecting his foreign policy legacy, particularly the Iran nuclear deal and his “Russian reset” that had failed
– Ensuring his preferred successor, Hillary Clinton, wasn’t blamed for her electoral loss
– Preventing Trump from pursuing détente with Russia, which would have undermined Obama’s approach
– Maintaining Democratic Party power by delegitimizing the incoming administration

In essence, Obama prioritized his political legacy over national security, truth, and the democratic process itself.

The Russiagate hoax didn’t just harm Trump—though three years of investigation and impeachment certainly crippled his presidency. The real victims were:

– The American people, who were systematically lied to by their government and media
– U.S.-Russia relations, set back decades by manufactured hostility
– Democratic institutions, weaponized for partisan purposes
– Intelligence professionals, whose credibility was destroyed by leadership’s politicization
– Truth itself, sacrificed on the altar of political expedience

Director Gabbard has confirmed that these documents have been turned over to the Department of Justice. The question now is whether there will be accountability for what amounts to an attempted coup against a sitting president.

The evidence suggests systematic abuse of power at the highest levels of government. FBI and CIA leadership knowingly promoted false narratives. The Obama White House coordinated the dissemination of manufactured intelligence. Media outlets were fed—and eagerly reported—information officials knew to be false.

This wasn’t a simple intelligence failure or honest mistake. This was deliberate deception designed to overturn an election result and destroy a presidency.

 A Path Forward

With truth finally emerging, there’s an opportunity to reset both domestic politics and international relations:

Domestically, Americans can begin to heal from years of manufactured division. The constant drumbeat of “Russian collusion” poisoned political discourse and made reasonable policy debate nearly impossible.

Internationally, there’s now space for genuine diplomacy with Russia. Without the Russiagate albatross around its neck, American foreign policy can be based on national interests rather than domestic political theater.

Director Gabbard, who has long advocated for diplomatic engagement and ending regime-change wars, is uniquely positioned to lead this reset. Her credibility—having been smeared herself as a “Russian asset” for advocating diplomacy—makes her the perfect messenger.

For years, anyone who questioned the Russiagate narrative was dismissed as a conspiracy theorist, a Trump apologist, or worse—a Russian agent. Tulsi Gabbard herself faced such smears from Hillary Clinton and others simply for advocating diplomatic engagement.

Now we know the truth: the real conspiracy was the one claiming there was Russian collusion. The real coup attempt came from within the Obama administration. The real threat to democracy wasn’t foreign interference but domestic manipulation.

Director Gabbard’s courage in releasing these documents—despite inevitable political backlash—demonstrates why she was the right choice to lead the intelligence community. Truth, it turns out, is more important than partisan politics.

As these revelations continue to unfold, Americans can finally begin to see clearly what happened in 2016 and why our politics became so poisoned. More importantly, we can begin the hard work of ensuring such abuse never happens again.
