For the past weeks, most critics and some supporters have accused Emmanuel Macron of being absent from the current “crisis”. The French railways SNCF and Paris Metro RATP have been on strike for 30 days over a pension reform and Macron has barely addressed the situation.
Until now, the U.S. foreign policy has been characterized by tension. But given the anxiety about President Donald Trump and what his administration might do – pull out of NATO, start a war with Iran or North Korea – it was something to be grateful for.
