Former President Donald Trump has been found guilty on all charges in a historic and unprecedented criminal trial, making him the first US president to be found guilty of a crime in a historic court case. The Manhattan trial focused on accusations made by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg against Trump, who was charged with 34 counts of first-degree business record fabrication. Trump, who has consistently maintained his innocence, pleaded not guilty to all charges. However, after a thorough examination of the evidence and testimonies, the jury delivered a unanimous verdict, finding the former president guilty on all counts. The charges stem from allegations that Trump falsified business records in an attempt to conceal a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels, a pornographic performer. The payment was purportedly made in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election to ensure Daniels’ silence regarding an alleged affair with Trump in 2006. Prosecutors argued that the falsification of records was intended to protect Trump’s electoral prospects by preventing potentially damaging information from coming to light.
