Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition to resurrect efforts toward an Israeli-Palestinian two-state solution, which is a major step on the international scene. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud unveiled this effort, known as the “Global Alliance,” at the UN General Assembly in New York. It is the result of a deliberate attempt to unite a wide range of nations, including numerous European countries like Norway as well as members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League. This coalition’s establishment represents a significant development in Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic approach. Saudi Arabia is highlighting the value of a multilateral approach to one of the longest-running disputes in the Middle East by standing with both Arab and European nations. The engagement of the European Union, as embodied by High Representative Josep Borrell, highlights a dedication from multiple international entities to pursue a nonviolent settlement.
