Borrell announced on social media platform X that the coalition’s initial meetings are set to take place in Riyadh and Brussels. This geographical spread highlights the international dimension of the initiative, aiming to bridge regional divides and foster dialogue across continents.

Saudi Arabia has consistently maintained that a two-state solution is imperative for lasting peace. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reiterated the kingdom’s stance by stating that Saudi Arabia would not recognize Israel without the establishment of a Palestinian state. This position reflects a broader sentiment in the Arab world, where the creation of an independent Palestinian state is seen as essential to addressing historical grievances and achieving regional stability.

The Crown Prince also strongly condemned what he described as the “crimes of the Israeli occupier” in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank. These statements signify Saudi Arabia’s enduring support for the Palestinian cause, while also advocating for a negotiated settlement that ensures security for all parties involved.

The two-state solution, which envisions an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel, has long been proposed as the optimal path to peace. But the engagement of major actors like as the European Union and Saudi Arabia presents a special chance to use economic and diplomatic instruments to promote accommodation. The coalition’s capacity to sustain momentum and foster mutual trust among the members will determine how successful it is.
