Hungary has decided not to take part in NATO’s upcoming efforts to support aid to Ukraine, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced in a recent statement that highlights the complex dynamics inside the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). Hungary will not, however, prevent or hinder other members from offering assistance. Following Stoltenberg’s talks in Budapes with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, this statement was made. Prime Minister Orban’s government has consistently exhibited a nuanced stance regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
