This Saturday, the Israeli Air Force executed a strategic bombardment of the Yemeni port of Hodeida, targeting what it identified as a critical route for Iranian arms deliveries to the Houthi rebels. The operation, carried out by F-15 jets, was confirmed by an Israeli military spokesman and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. According to Nadav Shoshani, the spokesperson for the Israeli army, the port of Hodeida serves as a primary entry point for weapons from Iran to Yemen. Shoshani emphasized that the port has been instrumental in supplying “advanced munitions” used by the Houthi rebels in numerous drone attacks against Israel. These actions have, in his view, not only posed a direct threat to Israeli security but have also disrupted economic stability on a global scale. This disruption is particularly linked to Houthi-launched drones targeting commercial vessels in the Red Sea, a critical maritime route.
